Founded by father and son Saul and Bruce Katz in 1971, Rockport quickly became popular due to its advanced materials and technologies in traditional shoes.  The lightweight comfort created by Rockport has not been surpassed by any other shoe company.  Rockport took another step forward in 1985 by inventing biomechanically designed fitness-walking shoes, and Rockport's first boat shoe was introduced in 1989.  Children finally got their Rockport Kids Collection in 2002, and another recent development was the release of waterproof leather shoes in 2004.  With its great footwear collection, Rockport is sure not to disappoint even the most demanding consumer!
